Heather has lived in Westminster for over 30 years, where she joined a local amenity society in
Marylebone, ultimately chairing it for three years. She was elected to the Council in 2010 as
Councillor for Hyde Park Ward. She became Cabinet Member for Sustainability and Parking in 2014,
having been Deputy Cabinet Member for Children’s Services. She is also Lead Council Member for
Edgware Road and for Shisha Strategy.
Her current Cabinet role covers air quality, cycling, walking, greening, biodiversity, road safety and
parking. Last year Heather set out Westminster’s Greener City Action Plan, the Council’s ten year
vision to promote a sustainable, liveable environment.
Heather’s original career was as a development economist working for organisations including the
Commonwealth Secretariat and the United Nations.
